29th July 2016 will mark the Sombre 75th anniversary of the Crigglestone Colliery explosion, a disaster which cost the lives of 22 miners and which in its aftermath left 18 widows and 36 children fatherless.

As a mark of respect and remembrance to the men who died and to all others who have lost their lives over the years in the local colliery the Parish Council and local historian Keith Wainwright invite you to the event which will see an exhibition of photographs of the colliery, its employees and other colliery memorabilia.
